Suede Arcade come rumbling from the bloodied, sweat and whiskey stained floors of Christchurch. For the uninitiated, Suede Arcade are a formidable live presence of unplanned chaos, pandemonium and intrigue. Unashamedly wearing 50 years of rock'n'roll history on their dirty sleeves, they are not trying to reinvent the wheel but are simply rolling with it, dragging the wheel through the mud and blood of good intention. A Jeans and T-Shirt band for the 2010's, they are a Hard drinking, hard playing band who are play rock'n'roll for the right reason. Because It's rock'n' fuckin roll.
Suede Arcade are a classic five piece band, of Jacob Lamont (vox), Pedro Johnston(bass) Brent Laban (drums) Shane Cullimore (guitars) and John Steenhart(guitars) Its taken over 5 years, 2 trips to the national battle of the band finals, 184 line up changes and numerous incidents up and down the country (including the "snow on the Xmas tree" extinguisher scandal) for Suede Arcade to get their act together and release something, but here it is, their debut E.P! From the broken bones to the broken homes, the final product is loud, rough, and right.
Recorded by the local legend that is David Webber at Pawn Raid Studios (Anthesiac, None Left Standing, Troika to name a few) we couldn't be happier with the final product. Doctor Dave has done a superb job of capturing Suede Arcades live sound, and refining it into a recording all the boys are bloody proud of.
Having supported some of New Zealands top local rock act's (Shotgun Alley, The Valves, These Four Walls) and with a recent support slot with Canadian L.A based
rockers Nero Zero Suede Arcade have shown that they can handle the stage with the best of them.
Keep an eye out, because Suede Arcade are just getting started. With an album already in the works to follow the E.P its safe to say theres plenty of life left in Christchurch Rock n Roll!
E.P Available from the 25th of May, if you are looking to get your hot little hands on a copy contact Suede Arcade on facebook.
