CHARTFEST Christchurch’s annual music industry event returns to the city for it’s fourth year this May.

CHARTFEST, like everything in Christchurch since 22nd February 2011 is in a transitional phase but in 2012 the key intention is to support new emerging venues and our struggling artist community. Instead of one large event on one day in NZ Music Month we are spreading CHARTFEST 2012 over 4 weekends in May to cater for varying genres of contemporary music. The events kick off with an official launch party in association with the Christchurch City Council at the CPIT Rakaia Centre on May 1st.

CHARTFEST 2012 will ultimately provide gigs for over twenty of the city’s music groups at five different locations throughout the month of May. These events are designed to show case and celebrate some of the exceptional talent that exists here in Christchurch, while providing a highly enjoyable and entertaining experience for Christchurch music fans to attend free of charge.
