Christchurch musical success story Marlon Williams is set to embark on an extensive world tour taking his soulful, folk country pop music to various parts of the globe. Catch him before he heads away in Christchurch this October for an intimate Church performance with Delaney Davidson, Tami Neilson, and Barry Saunders.


The Lost Highway Church Tour 2015

Veteran Aussie rockers Cold Chisel have announced two New Zealand gigs for December, including their first in the South Island since 1983.

Their One Night Stand tour will follow the October 2 release of new album The Perfect Crime, featuring the single Lost which has been released on Friday to radio and TV.

The band will play at Christchurch's Horncastle Arena on December 4.

New Zealand's Supergroove will support Cold Chisel.

The first ever Christchurch Drum Off competition was held at Dux Live last week. With over 120 people in attendance 10 great drummers all went head to head to show off their stick skills behind the kit. It was a close fought battle which was ultimately won by Andy Gibbs from band The River Jones. Andy won herself; a Paiste Cymbal pack worth $1000 from Musicworks, Aquarian Drum Skins, and free rehearsal time at BeatBox. Congratulations Andy!

Anyone out there interested in a career in music audio? MAINZ are hosting an open night this month, come and check out the facilities, talk to tutors about their great Audio, Live Sound, DJing and Electronic Music Production programmes.

Making Tracks music funding grants for August have just been announced. Successful recipients from Christchurch included Doprah, Terrible Sons, and ex-pats Shapeshifter.
