Chris Budgen and Lyttelton Short String Orchestra double bill at Chch Folk Music Club
There will be a double bill featuring Chris Budgen and Lyttelton Short String Orchestra at the Christchurch Folk Music Club on Sunday 9th September at 7.30pm.
Chris Budgen has been playing guitar for longer than he cares to remember. He likes fingerstyle guitar but these days plays more with a flat pick. Chris is originally from Auckland where he has a long association with the Devonport Folk Music Club and the alas long gone Poles Apart FMC. He was the president of the NZ Guitar Association (GANZ) in Auckland for a number of years and met several famous guitar players, including Tommy Emmanuel and Martin Taylor. These days, Chris plays music regularly with friends here in Christchurch, and enjoys writing and singing his own songs. Expect a range of instrumentals and home grown songs from Chris.
Lyttelton Short String Orchestra – a group of friends who meet once a week in Lyttelton to enjoy playing ukulele together and working on arrangements and techniques to extend their skills. They play any sort of music as long as it's fun to perform.
The Christchurch Folk Music Club is meeting at the Irish Society Hall at 25 Domain Terrace, Spreydon. This concert begins 7.30 pm. The bar and doors will be open from 7 pm.
Tickets: $7 members $12 non-members. Door sales only. Doors open 7.00 pm.
