Fledge at Luxcity this Saturday

A pan-arts performance, designed to wow the senses through multimedia delivery; Fledge at LUXCITY promises to deliver musical performances from some of Christchurch’s top emerging and established artists. There will be aerial feats and theatrical displays provided by our very talented Chch circo-arts performers kindly sponsored by an active construction partner.

Perhaps most exciting, is the opportunity to showcase the amazing local talent in a spectacular and truly unique transitional venue made of light. If you haven’t yet been to a Fledge event, don’t miss this one!

You are warmly invited to join us in central Chch for a night of light!

Over 350 architecture and design students from across New Zealand have designed and fabricated 16 installations that use light to create spaces for pop-up activities: bars, cafes, live music and performance venues and a night market. Come and return some life to the vacant city centre by enjoying and experiencing this unique urban atmosphere.

Local partners filling the light installations include Cassels Brewery, The Darkroom, Richard Till, White Elephant Trust, Black Betty’s, Volstead, Pure Pulp, Fledge, Infinite Definite, The Twisted Hop, Beach Bar, Lyttelton Coffee Company, P.O.D. and C4.

LUXCITY is held on vacant demolition sites: ground may be uneven, sensible shoes are advised and caution should be exercised.

6.30pm-midnight; lights on 8.30pm
