If there’s one season every year that you wouldn’t miss. If you can hold your own in a debate on the finer points of preparation, so long as it’s straight out of the river, and slapped between two bits of white bread with a squeeze of lemon.

The Great West Coast Whitebait Festival is a celebration of the best of Kiwi hospitality – with a dash of kiwi ingenuity thrown in – and a focus on our very favourite foods.
We’re bringing the choicest bits of the Coast to Christchurch for one day. And serving them up with a bucketload of entertainment including Katie Thompson, Stompin' Nick Jackman, The Coalrangers and The Black Velvet Band.
