Homegrown 2013 First Announcement
After 5 years of consecutive sell outs; Kiwi music's biggest day will once again monster the Wellington Waterfront on March 2nd 2013. The first line-up announcement gives a hint of just how massive this beast will be!
Shapeshifter headline the Dub & Roots stage armed with their signature sound and jaw dropping anthems. The Black Seeds, Katchafire, AHoriBuzz and Sunshine Sound System round off the first announcement with three major acts still to be named.
The Rock stage boasts local legends, Shihad alongside the sensational I Am Giant who continue to make waves overseas. The first wave also includes the rising talents of Villainy, Clap Clap Riot and Melbourne based King Cannons. Four acts are still to be announced to top off a stellar collection of Kiwi rock.
The Vodafone Pop and RnB stage includes the number 1 selling Home Brew, the gold and platinum producing Savage and crowd favourites PNC and Pieter T. Zowie and Ruby Frost add their futuristic blend of electro pop to the mix with four more acts yet to be confirmed.
Last year the Red Bull Sound Lab was introduced to Homegrown with a raw, jam and collaboration format. There's plenty more to come with four exciting acts still to be named.
The Lipton Ice Tea Electronic stage offers a diverse collection of top DJ/Producers. Concord Dawn is armed and ready with a new album and The Upbeats are paired with MC Tali; returning from 10 years at the top of the UK scene. Melbourne based Opiuo brings his unique mix of break beat & glitch-hop, North Shore Pony Club ride in alongside an Auckland vs. Welly battle between George FM's Thane Kirby and Radio Active's, Felix5. The final 3 acts will offer plenty more to the kaleidoscope of current dance culture.
