Laura Collins and the Back Porch Band play Folk Music Club

Laura Collins

Laura Collins and the Back Porch Band will be playing at the Christchurch Folk Music Club on Sunday 11th November at 7.30pm.

Laura Collins and the Back Porch Band deliver their back porch blend of acoustic ballads and blues.

This is a sweet blend of blues and twang, sass and yeehah, Laura's originals and favourite covers with their roots in the southern states of USA - e.g. John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, Gillian Welch and Blues spanning John Lee Hooker to Koko Taylor and Keb Mo. If you like the mix of blues and a little country you are likely to hear from Bonnie Raitt, then you'll enjoy a night with Laura Collins and the Back Porch Band.

This band has a relaxed, warm acoustic sound with upright bass, acoustic guitars, Weissenborn slide guitar, mandolin, snare and accordion. You'll feel like you're hanging with them in the lounge or cruising in the sun on the back porch. Of course with Laura in the mix there will always be an emphasis on entertainment.
