The festival Street Party will kick off Friday 8th June at 6pm. After a masked parade and the LPC fireworks extravaganza the open air London St stage will host some of Lyttelton's finest musicians.
Main stage Friday 8th June:
The Greyhounds
Lupus Lunar
Lindon Puffin
The Unfaithful ways
The Greyhounds play for the first time. An authentic blue grass feel, the band is a combination of musicians from the Unfaithful Ways, the Eastern and Run-Around Sue. Lupus Lunar also feature for the first time. Describing themselves as "Earworm Rock" the band features local musician Dylan Hawes. Feature acts for 2012 will be the Unfaithful Ways headed by Lyttelton local Marlon Williams, who is currently in the running for some music awards in Gore and Lindon Puffin promoting his new album Hope Holiday plus many of his old faithfuls.
Al Park who organises the main stage said "I'm looking to show case the top acts in Port. We have some of the best acts in the country and it's the role of the festival to highlight our musicians and to inspire up and coming bands"
Beyond the street the Wunderbar hosts Taos from 9pm, there will be experimental music from the Basement Ballroom at the Roastery and the official after party at Fisherman's Warf from 10.30pm with live DJ.
