Local talent to sing 007's greatest hits with CSO in October

The world of James Bond comes to life in a thrilling concert event produced by Tim Beveridge celebrating 50 years of James Bond in a one-off spectacular show on Thursday 4 October at the CBS Canterbury Arena.

Beveridge's concert is a must-see evening of music which transcends generations. With a superb cast of hand-picked soloists backed by one of the Garden City's most cultural assets; the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, 'The Music is Bond...James Bond' will showcase the unforgettable songs and iconic music associated with the world's most famous spy.

Bond themes such as Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever and Live and Let Die have been performed by many of the greatest pop artists of their generation. From the magnificent sound of the great Shirley Bassey, to pop icons; Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Sheena Easton, Duran Duran and many more.

Producer Tim Beveridge, is thrilled to be bringing the concert to Christchurch and to have brought together an unforgettable mix of rock musicians, leading vocalists and classical musicians,

"You don't get much bigger than the music of Bond. Some of the world's greatest producers and artists have created an unforgettable line-up of songs and I'm thrilled to have assembled such a talented group that are, quite simply, going to nail it."

Renowned jazz siren Caitlin Smith's seductive voice will be complimented by the dynamic vocal talent of Sharon Emirali, whose credits include tours with Tom Jones, Charlie Pride and the Jordinaires. Together with Beveridge, they will be joined by Cantabrian favourite Ali Harper and Matthew Smith, lead rock vocalist of Von Voin Strum, a new Christchurch band that have exploded on to the New Zealand scene.

Tickets go on sale through Ticketek on Monday 9 July at 9 am. Premium ticket holders will get an extra taste of Bond with a complimentary pre- show vodka martini (shaken not stirred)>
