Soulsystem Power Of Will single release show

Christchurch based power-trio Soulsystem are pleased to announce the release of their new single Power Of Will, the long-awaited follow up their popular and successful debut recording, the Rise EP.

The music of Soulsystem can be described as a fusion of heavy dub, soul and rock. Incorporating a diverse array of layers and ambient effects, the band creates a huge sound and delivers a high-energy live show that has earned them dedicated supporters throughout New Zealand, performances alongside some of the country’s highest profile artists, and slots at a number of major festivals.

The Rise EP released in 2008 showcases a collection of the band’s earliest works, documenting the pure and simple fusion of dub and soul that formed the original basis of Soulsystem’s now unmistakable live sound. Tracks from the Rise EP have received regular nationwide airplay, and have appeared on compilations and the soundtracks of home-grown ski and snowboard films.

Soulsystem returned to the Studio in 2010 and recorded tracks for their first album, prior to the project being sidelined by the events of 2011 in Christchurch, and two members of the band relocating overseas. Soulsystem has since reformed with the arrival of multi-talented drummer and vocalist Henare Kaa, and work on the album has recommenced.

As the first offering from the album sessions, the CD and digital single Power Of Will features the title track, a second studio track, and a live recording expertly captured by recording engineer Ian McAllister at The Bedford, a now-demolished concert venue in Christchurch.

Soulsystem will be celebrating the official release of Power Of Will with a free concert at the Dux Live on Friday August 3rd, joined by local reggae powerhouse Merchants of Flow, and up and coming solo slide-guitarist Jacob Morris. The single will be available on CD at the release party, subsequent live shows and via mail order, and digitally from all online music stores.
