Tiki and Ladi6 finalists in Unsigned Only competition for 2012
Unsigned Only is very pleased to announce the list of finalists for the 2012 competition and both Tiki Taane and Ladi6 are right in there.
A total of 100 finalists were selected from more than 7,000 entrants, representing solo artists and bands from 80 countries worldwide. Winners will be announced in August, 2012. All finalists have been sent to the celebrity judges who will select the winners.
Unsigned Only is a unique international music competition designed for solo artists, bands, and singers who are not signed to a major label record company or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, or imprints. Unsigned Only is looking for outstanding, talented artists: a newcomer or veteran...raw or polished - the "gem" that needs to be discovered. Unsigned Only is looking for the total package.
Unsigned Only is a fresh and novel approach to other music competitions. Yes, it offers great prizes, recognition, exposure, and the chance to be heard by a judging panel of high-profile recording artists and industry professionals. But, Unsigned Only takes it a step further and for the first time ever, a music competition offers the Grand Prize winner the once-in-a-lifetime chance to be mentored by and directly network with the top echelon of record company professionals and get guidance, advice, feedback, and networking opportunities.
Categories include: AAA (Adult Album Alternative; AC (Adult Contemporary); Christian; Country; Folk/Singer-Songwriter; R&B/Hip-Hop; Rock; Pop/Top 40; and Vocal Performance. A new category will be added for next year's competition (which will be open for entries in August, 2012) - A Teen category for artists 18 years old and younger.
Judging Criteria includes: originality, songwriting, vocals, performance, and overall likeability.
