Von Voin Strum announced as support for Slash next Sunday at CBS Arena

Christchurch's Von Voin Strum have been hand picked by legendary guitarist Slash as support for his Christchurch show at CBS Arena, Sunday 19 August.

The band have gone from strength to strength since releasing their latest EP 'Shiver Roses', picking up NZOA Making Tracks video funding for two of the tracks from the EP, national airplay via The Rock and Hauraki and were picked by Australian rock legends INXS to open for them in front of 15 000 people at the ITM V8 Supercars in Hamilton.

One of the best guitarists of all time, Slash was named Time magazine’s runner-up in "The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players" in 2009, while Rolling Stone placed him at No. 65 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" last year.

Guitar World ranked his solo in "November Rain" No. 6 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos" in 2008, and Total Guitar placed his riff in "Sweet Child o' Mine" at No. 1 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Riffs" in 2004.

Slash will be playing with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. The New Zealand concert announcement coincides with the release of his second album, Apocalyptic Love.
