This November Gustav’s has the rare and much anticipated pleasure of hosting the ever escalating-in-excellence Steve Abel. On the very eve of the release of his third album he will be returning south to Christchurch after a prolonged absence.

He is a true wizard among songwriters and has been described as…

“A mixture of the sparseness and cut throat honesty of Will Oldham and the dark, haunting lyrics of Nick Cave. The songwriting and musicianship is outstanding, talent.”

There are few figures in electronic music who manage to combine commercial success with underground respectability. The Bristol-based producer and DJ known as TC is one such individual, utilising his talents to comfortably flit between remixing Number One artists and unleashing rave-razing bass-driven monsters pitched straight at the underground. Rising through the ranks to receive 'Best Producer' and 'Breakthrough Producer’ at the 2007 Xtra Bass Awards is just one example of the unprecedented support he has garnered over the years.

There are very few distinctly unique voices in the world today but V Grant has one of them, with a richness and depth that you would expect from a lovechild of Tracy Chapman and Alanis Morissette. Vocally trained by Australian Songstress, Venetta Fields, and mentored by Toni Childs, V Grant has wooed audiences up and down the East Coast of Australia, including the festival stage of Byron Bay Bluesfest (2012). With an energy that’s contagious, she performs with a stompbox, djembe & acoustic guitar… A definite must see!

Hook laden, brutally loud, fever-pitched yet chaotically beautiful, No Broadcast’s latest single Moment continues on their tradition of ambient, atmospheric sonic/post-rock. Bringing to mind the likes or Jakob, Boris and My Bloody Valentine, the first single from their new album ‘The Blueprint’, Moment hints at No Broadcast’s continued evolution of sonic experimentation as well as their ceaseless growth as songwriters.
